The girl who wanted to fly

                                                Vladimir Kush,  Treasure Island

Once upon a dream, a little girl wished to reach the sky… the dazzling and unreachable sky.
Every day and every night, she would remain motionless with her sparkling eyes focused on the endless blue that would surround her insignificance. Every sun and every moon, she would be consumed by her ambition.
The little girl would never forget; the little girl would never let go of her so important dream.
She would always fantasize about the day she would finally be able to touch her precious sky. All she wanted was to become one with her dearest, with her world.
The little girl hated the ground, which had made her prisoner. The little girl hated the gravity, which would pull her back to earth every time she jumped. The little girl hated… but a little girl shouldn’t hate.
Along with her hatred, her ambition would never cease.
The little girl grew and became a woman, a dreaming and dreamful woman.
The woman was corrupted by her ambition and started to lose her humanity. The woman killed, the woman stole… The woman murdered an eagle and took away its wings. The woman murdered many birds and many birds were tortured.
The woman became a monstrous hybrid… a heartless hybrid.
But the hybrid flew and made the little girl’s dream come true.
The hybrid which had once been an innocent little girl flew and flew in the endless sky it had once admired. The hybrid flew until flying was no longer enough.
The hybrid eagerly wished for more. What the hybrid did not know was that its ambition could not be sated.
However, the irrational being desired to reach the sun… the dazzling and unreachable ruby of light.
And so the hybrid reached the sun and burnt itself along with its ambition.
The little girl became the woman and the woman became the monstrous hybrid… but now the monster is dead and there’s nothing left behind but the unreachable sky and the unreachable ruby of light.
